Domestic Violence Batterer Intervention Program (BIP)

Domestic Violence Batterer Intervention Program (BIP)

The Domestic Violence Batterer Intervention Program (BIP) is a structured, court-approved educational and rehabilitative program designed to promote accountability and lasting change among individuals who have engaged in abusive behavior. Our mission is to foster respect, responsibility, and empathy, breaking the cycle of violence to create safer families and communities.

BIP is more than a legal requirement—it’s an opportunity for personal growth and transformation. Participants engage in supportive group sessions that help them identify abusive patterns, understand the impact of their actions on loved ones, and develop healthier skills for managing conflict, stress, and communication. The program challenges harmful beliefs and behaviors rooted in power and control, encouraging positive, respectful relationships.

While often mandated by courts, probation, or child protective services, voluntary participants are welcomed. Led by experienced professionals trained in trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care, BIP sessions are inclusive and adapted to meet diverse needs.

The program equips participants with tools to rethink personal attitudes, unlearn damaging gender norms, and take meaningful steps toward behavioral change. By prioritizing accountability and collaborating with advocacy and support services, BIP contributes to increased safety for survivors and communities.

How It Works:

  • Enrollment: Participants may be court-ordered, referred by probation, or join voluntarily.
  • Assessment: Confidential intake evaluates individual needs and program suitability.
  • Weekly Group Sessions: Typically held over 26 to 52 weeks, focusing on education and skill-building.
  • Curriculum: Covers accountability, empathy, emotional regulation, non-violent communication, and relationship skills.
  • Progress Monitoring: Attendance and behavioral changes are tracked and reported to relevant authorities.
  • Completion: Successful completion is determined through consistent participation and demonstrated growth.

Our goal is to transform behavior, reduce recidivism, and strengthen the foundation for safer, healthier communities through education, accountability, and collaboration.

Completion: A final review is conducted to determine successful completion based on participation and progress.
